Health Questionnaire
The PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) is a quick, seven-question screening tool used to determine if it is safe for an individual to increase their level of physical activity.
What is the PAR-Q?
The PAR-Q is a simple, self-guided screening tool consisting of seven "Yes" or "No" questions. It focuses on symptoms and medical history related to:
Heart health (chest pain, dizziness, or fainting)
Bone and joint issues that might be aggravated by physical activity
Prescription medications for blood pressure or heart conditions
The goal isn't to diagnose medical issues, but to identify individuals for whom certain types of exercise might be risky without professional medical advice.
Why we use it
Safety: It identifies members who might need a medical consultation before starting a high-intensity routine.
Personalization: It helps our trainers understand your physical limits to provide safer workout modifications.
Liability: It is an industry-standard requirement that ensures our gym meets professional safety and insurance regulations.
What Happens Next?
Click the floating green button to start filling out the questionaire.
If you answer "No" to all questions: You are cleared to begin exercising immediately!
If you answer "Yes" to one or more: Don't worry—it doesn't necessarily mean you can't join. It just means you should chat with your doctor first to find out which types of exercise are safest for you right now before beginning your fitness journey.
Note: Even if you pass the PAR-Q today, it’s important to let us know if your health status changes in the future!
